November 30, 2010 - Michael Alfant was elected by the members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ACCJ) to serve as the Chamber’s 52nd President. Alfant begins his tenure on January 1, 2011.
“I am truly honored to be elected President of the ACCJ. I will work diligently to execute the Chamber’s mission to further the development of commerce between the United States of America and Japan, promote the interests of U.S. companies and members, and improve the international business environment in Japan,” said Alfant.
As President, Alfant will focus on entrepreneurship, advocacy and membership.
“I believe that the volunteer members of the ACCJ have, over the Chamber’s 63-year history, built a powerful and influential organization. The opportunities the Chamber creates for its members to network, exchange information and advocate have made it one of the premier international business organizations in Japan. I look forward to working with members and the broader community to create an even more dynamic and vibrant business environment in Japan,” said Alfant.
